More than 30 Ukrainian military were shot at a checkpoint near Donetsk

Around 3-4am on the 22nd of May there was an attack at a checkpoint of Ukrainian servicemen near village Olginka. The headquarters of Peace of the presidential candidate Renat Kuzmin informs about this, reports UNN.
According to eyewitnesses, residents of the Donetsk region, who inform about heavy fighting near Olginka and Ugledar, vehicles approached the checkpoint, and military were shot from them almost point-blank. According preliminary information, 30-36 military died. More than 30 were wounded; they have been transferred to a hospital.

“The attack was also carried out from two helicopters, and the jeeps possible had logo of the “Privatbank” on them. Ambulances continue to arrive at the place of the tragedy. Medical staff complain that they do not have enough time to take all the wounded. There are also calls from village Ugledar, where there was a militants’ attack on a checkpoint. There are 3 killed,” – inform the headquarters.

MoD have also informed that terrorists attacked a Ukrainian Army checkpoint near Volnovaha and a column of military equipment near Rubejnoye.

Earlier the coordinator of the group “Info Resistance” D. Tymchuk informed that as a result of a battle between terrorists and soldiers of the National Guard near towns Rubejnoye and Volnovaha at least 8 Ukrainian soldiers died and 18 more were wounded. During the fighting near towns Rubejnoye and Lisichansk the terrorist blew up a bridge connecting the two towns.

The Borders Agency has informed that terrorists attempted few time to break through the Ukrainian state border and there are snipers near frontier “Stanichno – Luhansk”.

On the 13th of April an anti-terrorist operation was announced in Ukraine with aim to stabilise the situation in the country, overcome any manifestations of separatism by radical parties and prevent seizures of administrative buildings. Special attention is paid to Luhansk, Donetsk and Kharkiv regions.
